Celebrating 50 years of friendship with sister city, Kashiwa, Japan, the Torrance Sister City Association proudly presents an evening of music and artistry on February 18, 2023, featuring past cultural exchange students who today are highly accomplished performing artists.

Master Shinoharu Tatekawa will share Rakugo, the traditional art of Japanese comedic storytelling. The Torrance Civic Chorale will join in the celebration along with Carol Williams MacIntyre of the MacIntyre Family Singers, who have performed on stages of Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, Broadway, and American Idol. Operatic vocals by David Contreras and Tami Ooka, and modern taiko drum stylings of Alex Ito, will leave a lasting resonance. Join us for this golden anniversary celebration!
